Last Few Words: Here, I am trying out using quotation marks to illustrate sarcasm since people often make "air quotations" to telegraph their true opinion. Does it work here? Any input is appreciated!

The use of quotation marks absolutely adds to the sarcasm you were hoping to illustrate.  Unfortunately, politics here in the U.S. suffers a lot from "air quotes."
