The Silence Filled With The Right Words

Rewriting Memory

The mutual understanding between kindred spirits
It’s like a language spoken at a higher plane
Even in silence there’s respect and admiration
When in retrospect we know we all felt the same

Amidst reverence and passionate veneration
There’s also a devotion that consumes the soul
As if temptation tries to stain the elation
By changing direction and assuming the role

Here, at the crossroads of compulsion and control
The heart and mind fight for what’s between right and wrong
While keeping restraint there is a consternation
Like a test of character for those who are headstrong

I sit in stillness trying to achieve a balance
Contemplating times of commotion and dismay
Reflecting on the silence filled with the right words
Ready to take on anything that comes my way

The Silence Filled With the Right Words

Hello, Wally,

"I sit in stillness trying to achieve a balance..."

Heart and mind - such a conflict sometimes. I find if I sit still long enough, the heart leads the mind in the right direction.

"Silence Filled With the Right Words."  Beautiful.

Thank you,

L
