Reverence

The hours I've paused
here in these woods,
free from the sense of reason,

the unclad trees,
now bones revealed,
revere this quiet season.

The Aspen, high,
the Cottonwood
turn slightly from the Sun

to honor Winter
as it draws near -
our resting has begun.

Hello, Obi,

Lovely, strangely calming... exactly how the fall/winter woods feel to me.

Thank you so much for reading!

This Poem...

Lovely Lavender,

the title is perfect! Another view into your humanity! You are so exquisitely beautiful!

these lines:

The hours I've paused
here in these woods,
free from the sense of reason,

(I believe) are the heart of the piece. They drew me in...

love, Cat

Hello, Cat,

I've been spending a lot of time in the woods as of late.  Grounding and free of all logic and worldly thoughts.  :)

Thank you, as always, for your generous comments!

Much love,

Lx

Hello, Will,

Winter is not my favorite season, but I'm trying to honor it and witness the wonderment.  The woods help!  Much to love there!

Thank you!

I can envision...

the changing of the season to the cold and almost bare winter, with only occasional flashes of a cardinal or blue jay, contrasting with the grey of the squirrel and blended white of the snow bunnies. Good stuff. ~ Geez.
