The Rain, and All It Knows
I complained about my ankle that always protests
when a chill wind wraps around me.
She offered her umbrella against the rain,
and put her hand to my mouth,
saying "If you're quiet, you can see things
you'll distinctly remember now that you're older."

Hello Anthony
I wish I can say that she isn't right, but unfortunately I definitely agree with her, we all get older and this is a bitter truth. You really have a way to express the thoughts in simple words and that I really appreciate!
Thank you for sharing this one!

I agree with your comments about the truth of this. Although, I see it as more bitter/sweet. Thank you Rula!

Yes...
the rain and the pain, remind me of the days gone by. Now that I am older, the things that I thought little to nothing about, those little bumps and bruises, broken bones, all remind me of what happened so many years ago. Good work, you gave me a few quiet moments, where I remember how foolish I had been. ~ Geez.
