Rain

It's raining so loud right now.. the hardest rain we've felt in this city of angels for a while

la lluvea .. sounds similar to the rain we felt in El Salvador.. tengo frio and my eyes envy, the release sweet sweet clouds must feel

I can't release you

and when i stop, to truly feel the rain, i realize i feel more and more of you

heavy on my heart, so heavy in my mind.. you're heavy like rain

Sweet sweet pain.. flowing through my veins

 and I still want you..

Neopoet AI [2026-06]

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet’s AI:

The poem's strongest moment is the bilingual turn — "la lluvia... tengo frío" — because it earns its emotional meaning through specificity: the rain in Los Angeles recalls rain in El Salvador, and that geographic and linguistic shift quietly carries the weight of displacement and longing without announcing it. The image of envying the clouds their release is genuinely felt and does real work.

The closing lines, however, give back what the earlier specificity builds. "Sweet sweet pain flowing through my veins" and "heavy on my heart, heavy in my mind" arrive as familiar phrases rather than discovered ones, and they flatten the emotional texture the poem had been quietly developing. The poem would land harder if those final movements stayed as grounded as the rain-in-two-cities image — if the feeling of inability to release were rendered in something as concrete as the cold, the city, the language switch, rather than reaching for phrases the reader already knows.

Hello heart hungry poet...

It is raining where I am... I got caught up in the lines of this poem, it resonated with me. I shall never look at rain in the same light again. You have changed my view. There is beauty in your pain... thank you for this.

always, Cat

I have memories...

of some exquisite pain during a storm. More of a mental anguish than physical, but still some industrial size stuff that knocked my socks off.  I remember thinking that the rain was so loud, couldn't it be quiet for just a moment so I could hear what I thought I heard? Strange to think of after all these years, I'm not sure if I should thank you, but I should give you kudos for awakening something so deeply buried. ~ Geezer.
