The Quiet
Softly, the doorway dims,
A lingering touch,
Bolt slams home,
The quiet quells the surge.
Stepping so deep,
Awash in nothing,
No plain cry,
The quiet sounds the notes unsung.
Curled up in slumber,
Companion awaiting,
Plight lies feigned,
The quiet frames what comes.
Hold the embrace,
A wistful glance,
Sigh strains space,
The quiet drinks the dark again.

The Quiet
First things first I am not experienced enough to be able to criticise your work. I can, however tell you that I really enjoyed your alliteration and the way you infused a sense of stillness into your poem. Each line painting a soothing picture.
