Picking Thoughts
Today I climbed to the top of my mind
To pick a bunch of thoughts
They were all ripe for the picking
Some yellow
Some orange
others still a bit green
As I held each one carefully in the palm of my hands
I serenaded it
Letting it know how much it meant to me
Then I reflected on those rejected
over the years
This one however is special
This one is sublime
This one has substance
This one is sweet and overflowing with just jubilant juices
I am overwhelmed by the aroma
As I bit into the succulent core of one I was pleased with the taste
It was chewy
It was tangy
It was grainy all at once
I enjoyed every last iota
Happily I carried on packing my basket with new ideas that blossomed from these young thoughts
I found everything fresh flavorful and fruity
The predicamen is which precious fruit do I give away, let slide, or overlook from the thoughts I picked today
My basket is full
My conclusion is made
My discourse is ready
So I climbed down from the staircases of my mind to examine the bounty
On the fairgrounds of this moment
Will you listen while I pick them apart?

I enjoyed...
all the savory, juicy thoughts I found in your basket. I wish you had spent a little more time in associating the fruits you have with the fair. It seems like it was tossed in there just for filler. ~ Geezer.
