parallel...

the universe sparks
when ideas clash, wars break out

evolution keeps grinding, smiling
"It is what it is"

the scarred heart grasps at 'sugar straws'
but carbohydrates fill the soul

parallel paths side-eyed forever

Neopoet AI (premium) [2025-04]

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet’s AI:

This poem explores the tension between conflict and coexistence, using both cosmic and personal imagery. The opening lines, "the universe sparks / when ideas clash, wars break out," establish a macrocosmic perspective, suggesting that creativity and destruction are intertwined. The shift to "evolution keeps grinding, smiling / 'It is what it is'" introduces a personified force of change, implying inevitability and perhaps resignation.

The stanza about the "scarred heart" and "sugar straws" moves into a more intimate register. The phrase "carbohydrates fill the soul" juxtaposes physical sustenance with emotional need, which is an intriguing metaphor, though the connection between "sugar straws" and emotional grasping could be clarified or deepened for greater resonance.

The final line, "parallel paths side-eyed forever," returns to the theme of coexistence without convergence. The use of "side-eyed" introduces a tone of suspicion or longing, suggesting that these paths are aware of each other but remain separate.

The poem benefits from its concise structure and varied imagery. Consider further developing the transitions between cosmic and personal themes to enhance cohesion. The metaphor of carbohydrates as soul food is inventive, but might benefit from additional context or imagery to strengthen its impact. The poem's tone is contemplative, with a subtle undercurrent of irony, particularly in the use of quotation and colloquial language. Overall, the piece invites reflection on the nature of conflict, adaptation, and parallel existence.

Parallel

I might be cynical with this take on this poem , so correct me if I am . For humanity can change all it likes with its evolutionists of thought building on ideas grinding it’s soul into a materialistic mold of numbness as the world blows itself apart. While the world keeps turning like nothing has ever happened, disoriented by its own nature .

It’s good a builds a clear idea , whatever that interpreted idea may be .

I love a good...

bit of sarcasm first thing in the day! In actuality, this is a retort to a poem written by Crypticbard. If there had been a way to post my poem after his, you would have seen that. But, thank you for the read and comments. I think you clearly get where this came from, ~ Geez.

parallel...

I like the idea of sparks being created which can cause explosive outcomes. The evolution notion for me, sometimes seems to stall, we could be curing diseases or make advances for the betterment of humankind, but war is such a detrimental factor to it all.

How true...

if only... we could banish greed. If the entire world were to stop warring for just a couple of generations, the progress that we could make in making sure that every person on this little rock flying along through space, would never want for housing, medical attention, food or anything; would guarantee there was never another war. Unfortunately... we all know that not everyone wants to be "a worker" a contributor, someone who actually "helps out".

Anyway, thank you for your comments, ~ Geez.
