Nothing Breaks This One

Rewriting Memory

I’ve said it many times, over, and over again
Guilt is a needless load to carry forever
The solution comes in asking for forgiveness
Or you else can’t go on happily with new endeavors

And though it’s all in the past you never forget
Understanding that there are life lesson which never end
You must also learn why and how to forgive yourself
To heal and move forward when making amends

I used to dwell in the guilt and shame of it all
Like a well-deserved punishment for my crime
And for a long time I felt I could not grow
‘Til I let go of the self-loath that had me confined

It’s been a challenging, hard grinding winding road
One that’s taken me through tests of character and strength
And though I failed many times I got up again
Beaten up but also with triumphs at arm’s length

dang..

The grammar could use a little touching up, but this still hit close to home with me. You genuinely have something good here. I'll be thinking of this today. :0]
