Moonlit

The glow that illuminates my sky

has stretched its arms into this darkened night.

Tonight, I shall not sing

my silk-woven songs for you.

Tonight, I shall not disturb

the tranquility within our silence.

Look at the trees,

blushing quietly beneath one another’s secret gaze,

while above,

the gentle clouds drape themselves in silver shades.

Do you hear?

The moonlit sky and the serene earth

are whispering beneath the silent tides.

Are you listening?

If only I could whisper this into your ears

without disturbing the stillness of this moonlit night,

we could have sat beneath a tree,

finding universes in each other’s eyes.

But the leaves wither,

and the wind sighs.

I look at you by

gazing back into the night sky.

Moonlit

Hello, tenderleaf,

Such a longing, and such a tender grief beneath it.  Quiet and lonely...

Welcome to Neopoet. I look forward to reading more of your work.

Thank you!
