Mail Call
Attn : To the One I Hate
I'm writing you so as to say
Your apology letter was too little, too late
You must answer this letter no later than today
I got better things to do, you see
Than to waste this ink on you
But here I am, pissing in your tea
One day you'll wake up broken and blue
- Regards
Urgent - Open Now !
This one is for you , my dear
I'm writing with bad news
The standard treatment didn't work, I fear
But I believe in God so I have nothing to lose
Nonetheless, let's not be sad
Let's talk and hug each other tight
Dying in my sleep, it can't be that bad
I was lost but with you I found the light
Your partner in crime ,
I love you.
Dear Sarah,
Sorry for the short notice
I didn't know how else to do this
Here is your formal termination letter
I wish you luck in your future endeavor
To do better, work hard and be true
Don't know how ? Here's a clue
First of all, you can never be late
But then again, you always liked to tempt fate
Better luck next time
Sincerely, Your Old Boss
Urgent , Open Now !
I'm back again , my pet
They have new medicine now, I'm told
For us, this is as good as it gets
It costs an arm and a leg, so it must be gold
Nevertheless, I've made a choice
The TV ads say it's another chance
A few more moments to hear your voice
Hey handsome, may I have this dance ?
- Isn't this wonderful news, my love ?
Your ride or die ,
I will always love you
Attn : Hateful
Oh now you're better than me ?
I received your letter in May
Who'll come out on top ? We'll see
If God is good you won't see another day
Broken and blue ? Ha, that's rich
I'm living my best life, you see
( By the way, lady, you smell like fish )
I'm gonna sit back and enjoy my tea
- Have a blessed day
To Whom it May Concern :
You want to re-hire me on this date ?
I got a better offer, you're too late
I'm sick of all your pizza parties and faint praise
Matter of fact, I demand a raise
For years I've been busting my hump
I'm tired of working for you in this dump
- You'll never find a better worker
Regards

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet’s AI:
The epistolary structure is the poem's strongest asset. By presenting everything as correspondence — complete with headers like "Attn," "Urgent, Open Now!," and sign-offs like "Your ride or die" and "Sincerely, Your Old Boss" — the poem builds a world entirely out of letters, and the reader assembles the relationships and conflicts from these fragments. This is an ambitious framing that rewards attention.
The interleaving of three separate threads also works well. The feud letters, the terminal-illness love letters, and the employment letters rotate in a sequence that lets each one develop across gaps, so returning to a thread carries the weight of what happened since it was last seen. The love-letter strand is the most affecting of the three. Lines such as "A few more moments to hear your voice" and "Hey handsome, may I have this dance?" locate real tenderness inside the clinical language of treatments and costs, and the contrast between the medical realities and the intimacy of the address gives that thread genuine emotional pull.
One area to reconsider is the consistency of the rhyme scheme. Most stanzas commit to alternating or coupled rhyme, and where the rhymes land cleanly they lend the letters a wry, formal music that suits the correspondence conceit. But some pairings strain to meet the pattern — "you see / in your tea," for instance, leans on filler ("you see" recurs several times as a rhyme-convenient tag), which can flatten lines that might otherwise carry more. Trimming the reflexive "you see" tags and letting a few lines rhyme less predictably might keep the music without the padding.
The feud thread is the one that lands least surely. Its escalation relies on general insults — "you smell like fish," "broken and blue" — that tell the reader these two figures despise each other without giving the specific grievance underneath. Compared to the love letters, where concrete details (the TV ads, the cost, the dance) do the emotional work, the feud stays abstract. Grounding it in one particular betrayal or shared history, dropped in as a single specific detail the way the other threads do, would give that antagonism the same texture and raise the stakes of its final exchange.
A smaller note: the transitions between threads depend heavily on the headers to signal a switch. This mostly works, but a couple of the shifts arrive abruptly enough that the speaker of a new letter is unclear for a line or two. A touch more distinctness in each voice — the boss's stiff formality versus the lover's warmth versus the enemy's venom — would help each letter announce its sender before the sign-off confirms it.
