The Lamb Of God

Hie thee to a field and get thyself a lamb
And slit its poor furry ovine throat
Let us sing "O Lamb of God", a sacrifice so cute,
Fresh slaughtered just for us, and so tasty to boot.

Lamb served with roasted spuds, that's a metaphor so fine
And maybe cauliflower au gratin and some nice red wine.
Oy! Excuse me waiter! I'll have a huge bleeding thick slice
My poor soul is starving, and it smells fucking nice.

We must be real grateful; let's get down on our knees;
We're so sodding hungrym so give us seconds, please.
And thus our hymn is ended; the sacrificial lamb
Is in our fat guts so we're feeling really grand.

So ends my recipe for a holy dinner
And we all know it's a sure-fire winner;
So praise your greedy god and pray your futile hates
While the poor of the world stare at their empty plates.

I once said...

to a Hindu, [whilst eating a thick juicy burger, that would feed a family of skinny Englishmen,] "Hey this cow was eating all your veggies, so I took care of it for you." ~ Geezer.

I must put you right...

...not many "skinny Engishmen" these days. Many eat hideous American-style hamburgers and grease-covered chips and tomato sauce. Many eat other utterly disgusting things (too horrid even to mention) and we have an obesity problem here in England - of course it's not on the same scale as in the USA, but many are getting there. I love the American TV show "My 600 pound life" which shows monstrous people stuffing their faces. But I digress.

Cows have a good time of it in Hindu countries. But you can't beat a nice beef curry.

What happened...

to the world of the poor? There must still be some in England. Else, how would you know of poor people? ~ Geezer.

Sadly...

...there are still many poor people in GB, in part thanks to the nastiness of the Conservative governments of the last 10 years. Coronaviris will make it worse. Britain is now the sick man of Europe - more C19 cases than anywhere else on Earth (Except of course for Trump's USA which is outkilling everyone).

Ps I am grateful for your comments. No one else bothers which bodes ill in general.
