Haunted
I blinked and my world crumbled
I’m trapped with no escape
Im left ruminating in words unspoken
My mind broken
My spirit trapped in ash
Since that day
I wonder will this pain ever go away
Your cruel words echo like venom
Your heart is cold to the touch
Not because I feel to much
You’re empty and bitter
leaving me to waste away like litter
I still crave your love
The feeling of being wanted
I’m forever haunted

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet’s AI:
The poem centers on a wound that refuses to close, and its strongest move is the refusal to resolve that ache neatly. The final line, "I'm forever haunted," lands with real weight because it circles back to the title rather than reaching for an easy consolation. That structural honesty serves the subject well.
Several images do concrete work. "My spirit trapped in ash" carries a sense of aftermath, of something already burned rather than burning, and that distinction gives the line its power. Likewise, "leaving me to waste away like litter" turns abandonment into something discarded and public, which is more specific than a generic sense of loss would be.
The image most worth developing is "I'm reminded of you any time I see denim." It is the one detail in the poem that feels drawn from a particular life rather than from the shared vocabulary of heartbreak. Where "cruel words echo like venom" and "a heart cold to the touch" are phrases the reader has met before, the denim line surprises. The poem might trust that kind of specificity more, letting a few observed, unexpected details carry the emotion that the more familiar metaphors currently state directly.
One recurring issue is worth flagging concretely: "You're" appears where "your" is meant, in "You're cruel words," "You're heart," and "You're empty." Since "You're" means "you are," these lines currently read against their intended sense. Correcting them to "your" would sharpen the address to the absent figure.
A rhythmic note: the rhymes in "broken/unspoken," "venom/denim," and "litter/bitter" arrive strongly, but a few land more for the sake of the rhyme than the meaning, and "denim" in particular carries such an interesting charge that pairing it with "venom" risks reducing it to a sound effect. Loosening a rhyme or two, or letting some lines close without a chime, could keep the ear from anticipating the pattern and let the sharper images do their work undistracted.

The first two lines change tense...
'I blinked and my world crumbled
I’m trapped with no escape'
Either 'I blinked and my world crumbled
I was trapped with no escape' or
'I blink and my world crumbles
I'm trapped with no escape'.
And 'ruminating in words unspoken' one usually does. the fewer the words, the more will out.
I see the wonder that is AI has pointed out 'your' use of 'you're',
so that's that other than, think more about what you are attempting to convey. unlike me, who's edited this at least 5 times now!
