08/25 Leaf Hunting

Fallen Leaf

The leaf lay there,
having completed its first purpose.

Now, with green colors receding,
it gives a final performance. The stage its own,

showcasing a myriad of unexpected hues,
highlighted by droplets of water.

The language of color
telling a story for anyone to see.

I was...

startled to see the word [anyone] and not everyone. I would love to believe that it was by design; meaning that it is available for everyone to see, but not everyone will. Nicely done,  ~ Geez.

Thanks Geez! Very perceptive…

Thanks Geez! Very perceptive regarding the use of the word anyone - it was intentional. I often try to convey the concept that simple beauty is often overlooked by many in our too busy world. Thanks for commenting.

Hi Michael, why haven't you…

Hi Michael, why haven't you entered your poem into the leaf hunting category? I think your poem is well written, and it emphasises the process each leaf will go through on its journey. Great poem, Ruby.
