Dog Years

My dog is likely marveling at me.
Not for anything I've done for him.

If you go by the one-year equals seven theory,
he must be wondering how I can still move, considering my age!

I think about this when I step out for any length of time,
and understand why he gets so excited when I come back.
I must have been gone for years.

Damn...

So funny, but then probably true. I would just imagine if someone dear to me might be gone for what seems to be days or weeks...I love the humor in this too, because anyone who has ever seen a dog greet someone he loves, will attest, it is as though they have been gone for years, even though it was just a few hours. Thanks for the image of those special dogs. ~ Geez.
