Dinner For Two
The same pot with its
blackened bottom.
The same grease stained stove.
In a kitchen
I said was too small.
You called it quaint.
Two plates at the table.
Two glasses of beer.
Your dog on the floor.
Beside my boots.
Stew and beer.
Hard men's food
you called it.
I ate slowly.
Your food went cold.
I made dinner for two.
Then ate with your dog.
