Along the Creek
Yellow Daffodils were
laughing on the bank,
purple-ish pink Phlox
and green shoots
of tall grass -
damp, tender,
rose to sing.
Virginia Bluebells, white
Lily of the Valley,
the bees, and,
(oh!) the butterflies
scattered like
Fairy Dust
teasing the breeze.
I sat by the water,
visiting, wondering
what plans
belonged to my day,
listening to the creek
as it settled near my feet
forgetting to meander along.

Along the Creek
Great final line and the poem is nicely put. If we could but live in the moment, it says. Bees are maybe a little too organised and busy to illustrate the point.

Hello, Ray,
Through the seasons, I walk by the creek in my town and see the different flowers, water fowl and insects. I kinda wish I had mentioned the Great Blue Heron who is a most patient and determined living being. I appreciate your reading and commenting!

(Those bees are certainly organized and busy - but they seem so joyful in their work!)

Hello, whitetea,
I'm always trying to describe the scenery, but I feel I fall short - nothing like being there and resting in the comfort.
Thank you!

Along the Creek
I love how you find nature and share it with all of us. We live on a creek and I spend a lot of time at waters edge, but right now I want to be on your creek!
Thanks for sharing. - Will

Hello, Will,
I am fortunate to be able to walk out my back door to the simplicity of a small town with a creek. Lots of poetry just waiting there.
Thank you for reading and commenting!
