Ahavati

I’ve always said she’s been a voice of reason
When times got so befuddled and rough
She’s been an artistic inspiration
A lyrical sister who knows her stuff

She’s got a passion for…ars poetica
She has been supportive and perceptive
Even when others have tried her patience
She’s been up-front, honest and receptive

I remember discovering her works
Then she suggested readings and writers
It felt as if she pointed me to doors
Like an open library to outsiders

I know in her personal life she is loved
It’s in the name (for those who understand)
To me she’s become one of my mentors
I’m grateful to know her and call her a friend

May the winds continue to be kind in our poetic journeys

Hello, Wally,

Aah, the art of poetry!  What a lovely tribute to your mentor!  It's pretty cool when we find someone who shares the love for poetry, and also shares their poetic journey.

Enjoyed this!

sounds like a a gift from the gods! Your words of appreciation for her are like sparkling gemstones.  A miracle in times of doubt and frustrations. You are a lucky soul!

Wally,

I enjoyed this very much! Kinda that point I was trying get across in chat tonight. She is your mentor because she was honest. She lead you to a place leaving you to take what you could use and leave what you couldn't.

I look forward to reading more of your writing.
