12:10 AM (not a time check)

I've sat too long at my key board
attempting to read all of ya'll
finding nothing I abhorred
I stand, knee gives, I fart then fall

The impact awakens wiener dog
from sleep before the couch
he looks at me his eyes agog
all I can say is "ouch!"

Regaining feet, I stand and frown
hoping I didn't waken Sue
to have her confront me in her gown
this late at night just wouldn't do

This time I test the leg a bit
before I give it weight
it holds up but it hurts like shit
the first few steps I hesitate

Toward the bedroom I now limp
down the hall I list from wall to wall
like a drunk untethered blimp
time to say good night to all
