Kintsugi
She sees kintsugi
as I pour myself in every direction
like rain onto grass
self-doubt holding the tap
open.
Omnipresent dark
clouds the skies
clouds thoughts
her gold earrings sparkle in the dusk.
She grabs a cup.
I am an evoker of sympathy
and the glass overfloweth in her eyes.
I could kiss her if her lips allowed
follow her into her daydreams
Read the rest of the poem Show less
to the print of the world that lingers,
behind those hazelnut eyes.
Would we crisscross with commonalities?
Blurred images.
Abstract chains of thought.
Or are we worlds apart
Are we all just worlds apart?
And kissing is just a façade for the hopeful
She sees kintsugi
I see a broken man.

"Missing You... " by @Geezer
"The line "I'm glad that your suffering is over, but I miss the hell out of you!" brought a tear to my eye. I am of the view that art and in general poetry offers a window into someone's soul, even though we don't know e…" -

"I really enjoyed the heart of this poem. Some of your language use "dampen the sky with stars" is very beautiful and elevates this piece. Personally celestial bodies didn't work for me or at least, it took away from the…" -

"this has to do with depression and how it comes unbidden to ruin a life. Many people who do not know much about depression, will say; "Just buckle down, don't worry, be happy!" They don't understand that it isn't someth…" -

"Spring Snow, D.C., 2018 (Spring Contest)" by @Eumolpus
"Wow. I loved the way this turned the convention of Spring poetry being tied to romanticism (at least, in my mind it is) on its head. The language and syntax also comes off as carefully considered and masterful. Unfortun…" -

About Me
I'm 20, live in Aus studying arts (writing). I love poetry, and I think the cultural perception around its value as an art form is a little twisted. But nevertheless, as with all creative pursuits, it isn't for anyone else. It's for me. Fav book is Infinite Jest, favourite poet would be Bukowski.
