Creature of the Night

You begin to shine at sunset
After the night falls
Your mind is kindled with light
Fingertips aflame

Live through the feeling through
Anger and Love
Elevate awareness
Of what had been

Try and fall away from it all
Fail, but try again and again
Breathing the fire
Until you burn out
And the morning sun
Closes your eyes
