mala beads form poems

frog jumps in
one hundred eight concentric rings
each lotus blossoms
within

~~~
who stokes this inner flame
that burns?
O breath of life
Divine!
who wears my ashes?
~~~

take this bitter cup
fill it with longing
let me drink
from its emptiness

~~~
the sky hangs low
touches earth
ties
rocks to wings
carries my soul
in folds of poems
like origami birds
~~~

My son at the age of 7 or

My son at the age of 7 or so, already was proficient in folding origami. His favourite was (and is) origami birds. It has been a theme of mine since poetry reemerged in 2005. Here is a poem called *Origami Birds* I posted at Neo in 2008. http://www.neopoet.com/node/12120 First of the three poems is about an origami mistress. http://www.neopoet.com/node/9764 Love & Light, Mum "There is a kind of mysticism to writing." ~ Irvine Welsh

Memorable and meditative poetry!

Not knowing much about Japanese style, other than Haiku, It's hard for me to say anything particularly pertinent to this piece. However, I know what I like when I see it, and this one pleases me very much! Bravo, Anna!

Thank you all for

Thank you all for reading. Japanese style lends itself to brevity, as in Ikabana (the art of flower arranging: http://www.google.com/images?hl=&q=ikebana&rlz=1B3GGLL_enUS386US386&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=7uFATMLXEI2esQONgZmIDA&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=4&ved=0CEIQsAQwAw and bonsai (the art of pruning judiciously and making and keeping trees small enough to hold in your hands. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonsai Light, Anna "There is a kind of mysticism to writing." ~ Irvine Welsh

Oh Anna Anna!

Ann of Norway Oh heavy heaviness with airy flights of fancied lightness the tow of opposites defy gravity, defy definition's whims and fancies, the lotus flower intoxicates the mind and sends the senses dancing like the fluttering of the wings of origami birds..... Ann with much love.
