Lady Wraith

Lady Wraith
By: eddy styx

Your shadow draws shorter devouring itself,

As sweet morning light wanes into noon.

The time of day when all seeming

Loses its resplendent illusions,

And the clandestine mystery of twilight

Is swept under the vast carpet of day.

Echoes of your fading smiles

Are lost in the horizon of introspection.

your lonely soul is stranded and confined

In the wasteland of the nowhere of in-between.

Your heart speaks to mine of darkest isolation

And its need of resolution's saving grace.

Consolation is a solution of ultimate absolution.

But I am withered and agonizing in the dawning

Of sorrow's revelation that I am not "the one!"

Not your special "someone" who can release you,

All the wanting in my world will not make it so.

With all my bleeding heart, I cling

To the perfection of your rhythm,

As the killing realization floods me that I must let you go.

This knowing reverberates through my being,

And your fingers slip from my grasp

I'm honored to be first!

The first to comment, that is, on such a moving and forceful poem as this! Your language is ethereal and eloquent as always, and the theme of this piece just rips at the very core of human love! Bravo, dear Cat!

Dearest Cat

I dont like to use the word moved very often so many people say that they are moved by something etc it gets overused ... anyway after that diatribe lol I was sincerely moved by this poem ... there is a haunting quality that makes me want to keep rereading it wonderful poetry my friend I caught a couple of hours with a empty house I came to read and relax love and biggest hugs JayCee x x x (Quote~~"It is by universal misunderstanding that all agree. For if, by ill luck, people understood each other, they would never agree. "--Charles Baudelaire)

Cat

Awsome poem , full of emotion , but line 10 is a little clunky maybe you could say ' in the wasteland of nowehere in particular', or ' in limbo captured inbetween,' or ' in the waste land of my dreams'. love lou

Dear Xena

Thank you so much. It has been suggested that I change that line, but since you like it so much I think I will let it stand. Always, Cat

I loved you usages and flow

I loved you usages and flow here, and then I am always in love with any "dawning" lol, this was very nice to read. I am still new with your writing and lack major suggestion. Thanks for sharing, Cat.
