WIND FROM MY SAILS
"WIND FROM MY SAILS" Margaret Ann Waddicor 11th july 2010
Something has stolen the wind from my sails
becalmed and still I sit,
stunned into silence
by sudden clouds,
shading the sun from my face,
my sight becomes dimmed,
my mind in a spin,
but no shooting stars,
not concussion,
much worse, maybe not,
as I focus on near things,
tack this way and that,
in mind but I find I'm still here in this place
at least for a while,
given grace,
then after its all in the past,
new thermals can fill me again
those sails,
life's good rythmns in health
take the helm
and replenish myself,
the figurehead of future development
life,
so take stock and be wise,
take the view that a pause
is a good thing
a change,
it may even lead you to wonderful things,
who knows?
