again, cat's on the quilt

light is breaking fast

early morning glow fill's sky's firmament

another day beginning

another sleepless night over

today's list:

call lawyer

call VA

write this poem

eat something

ride bicycle

dripping summer sweat

in black hours rain didn't come --

just as well

full enough is river

independent creatures are cats

unlike dogs who want constant

attention

cats will come round

to say hello -- get their back scratched,

move along to cat's mysterious agenda

quiet this time of day

quiet -- lovely

turned on soon -- daily toys will be

volume control, another day I wish for

on the quilt cat has left some dander

and a few aloof hairs.

Hello Again

The lines I liked most are: independent creatures are cats unlike dogs who want constant attention cats will come round to say hello — get their back scratched, move along to cat’s mysterious agenda Always, Cat
