Cry

       Cry

Cry me a river
tell me a lie
Make it a good one
something I'll buy

Tell me of demons
speak of your ills
Tell me your hell
if not for the pills

Cry me a river
let it all flow
Straight from the heart
not  for the show

Tell me of family
ask me of mine
Pretend that you care
use old standard lines

Cry me a river
tug my heart strings
Write me a song
that everyone sings

Like the pied piper
lead others astray
I can see through you
the price I won't pay

Cry me a river
I won't shed a tear
Hide in your shadows
cloaked in your fear

Again I am bloodied
refusing to die....
Cry me a river
then say goodbye.

Hi Scribbler, Once again,

Hi Scribbler, Once again, you have pulled one of my poems from the 'lonely' bin. Thanks. In all honesty, I didn't expect a response on this. I think it is something all can relate to but few like to admit. We've all been fooled. This served it's purpose. It gave me a release once I saw it in black and white. Sue

Hi Seren, I’m sorry you

Hi Seren, I'm sorry you can relate, but then, who can't. Thanks for responding. I'll pass the message on to Patrick... mind if I omit the word "little?" For some damn reason, he doesn't like it.. or maybe it's the pointing.. hugs, Sue
