L U L L A B Y by : ITZHAK BAREKET .

      ...after  mother ' s   death,
     after  the  funeral  services
and  all the  other  ritual  and  civilian  duties
          i  came  back  home , alone .

my  good  neighbour ,mister  Printz ,
prepared   for  me   the  traditional   meal.

i  tried  to  get  some   sleep ,
but   after  a  very  short   time
     i   woked  up , wet ,   covered
all   my  body   coled    sweat .

i ' ve   got  a   call... an   emergency   one...
" I  have   to   go   now , immediately , in  the  middle of  night
to  the  cemetery , to  run ,  to   open
the   grave ,  to   see , how  is   she   now ... "

could  be that  she   needs   me....
may be  she   want  to do   something  for  her
 i   don ' t    know   exactly    what....
but , perhaps  she  needs   more   light ?...more   heat ?
 i  really   don' t   know.... don't    know
   what   shall  i do....what   can   i do ....?

now....it  seems  to me  that  i found  it...i  got  it!
she  want   me  to   sing.....to  sing  for  her  the  lullaby  song ,
that  she   used    to   sing    for   me .
when  i  was  her's  little  first    born  boy ,
              and    i     cried ,
       cause   i    was   scared
                  to    sleep   alone....

Dear itzhak bareket

Very profound. My favorite lines: now….it seems to me that i found it…i got it! she want me to sing…..to sing for her the lullaby song , that she used to sing for me . when i was her’s little first born boy , and i cried , cause i was scared to sleep alone…. I also enjoyed your presentation. Always, Cat
