THE GARBAGE IN RUNNING RAIN WATER Some people around usSeem not to see at allBeyond the limit of the noseThe effects of their misdoingOr just being apatheticTo filth and fizz When rain fallsThey rush in to bringTheir garbage binsEmpty the contentsInto running rain waterIn the gutter before the house Polythene bagsWasted food, empty cansBroken bottlesShit and vomitSwept awayTo where there is obstruction Water and dirtNowhere to goSpilled and spreadAll over the roadCities turned out to be dirtierThan before the coming of rain

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the comments and for sparing your time to read this piece. Anytime I see people emptying their garbage into the gutter, I wonder at their insensitivity to the effect at the other end. I couldn't help, so I decided to write about it. Once again, thanks and best wishes. T.
