Son of Odd
Son of Odd….
I spoke to a man who said he knew,
and I asked if it was definitely true.
With a voice so unfamiliar and course,
he said very true, but also much worse.
Then who I said could save the day,
or will it always be returned this way.
That my golden wings should be clipped,
just as sure as that fool was whipped.
The wings I speak of are much deserved,
they are the ones I thought we had reserved.
The fool spoken of, said he was son of god,
I speak of this and I feel like a fraud.
See he was a fool to die for the cause,
loved by the poor only, as we have Clause.
He gives us gifts at least we can see,
and all for a seat, on his big happy knee.
The world never changed when Jesus died,
the rich say it has, but they have lied.
Rich people are taught this throw away line,
as long as we remain poor, then we’re divine.
But some have been braver than most,
and say away, with this angelic host.
I would like a share of heaven right now,
why does he want the sweat off my brow.
I think he’s invented by smart politicians,
working for people with moneyed intensions.
They meet each other at the alter of greed,
working hard with words to sell us his seed.
If we plant his seed then we’re lost,
as I have said, they will germinate at a cost.
The cost being a wasted unfulfilled life,
chasing Eve’s apples, with a very blunt knife.
I spoke to a man who said he knew,
and I asked if it was definitely true.
With a voice so unfamiliar and course,
he said very true, but also much worse.
Then who I said could save the day,
