LITANY OF REGRET

''Take this longing from my tongue"*let me lay where love belongsturn at each new waking dawnto find you there

still safe and warm. Let me sit beneath  spraying mist, the fountain of youth once used,  now sorely missed.  Remove from methis wretched regret, this scorching searchinglest I forget -that what we once hadwas our best bet. BjR  12 July '10

Hello Boni

Your work always astounds me. I keep forgetting exactly how good a wordsmith you actually are, until I read another of your poems. Regret and longing, a great and troubling theme. I love it. Favorite lines: Remove from me this wretched regret, this scorching searching lest I forget - that what we once had was our best bet. Always, Cat

Dear Boni

Dear Boni, Your entire poem is great. But I loved the second stanza most. "Let me sit beneath spraying mist, the fountain of youth once used, now sorely missed." How thoughtful! I thank you for your sharing, Boni. Ayaz Warith

Ayaz!

Don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting you - so I am most grateful for your comments! Interestingly enough - I thought that second stanza to be a little impudent and not particularly good - so I'm really pleased you liked it! I shall return to see your work as soon as I have a little time! Kind regards Bonita j ps perhaps you would be good enough to 'rate' the piece with the alloted stars as you see fit!

OH Bonita

this is stunning, something that we all relate too, but i find its better to always regret what you have done and not what you havent! when i was reading i felt my hands going up in the air! "Its an Italian thing" really enjoyable poem! shirley harrison

Hello Xena

Thanks for stopping by. Interestingly enough - I like to believe I don't do regret, but a couple of things came together after a fall out with a good friend coupled with this title - and this is what resulted! Amazing what the reawakened psyche can tell you! lol Bonita j
