Platonic whispers
i.
I wanted to face myself
in the mirror of my objection
my truncated reflection
blasphemous darkness
reverberating echoes of light
perchance
to dream with unbending curve,
deep-veined red
music revolves around the open window
and a house can not stay silent when
Montserrat erupts, splintering the
heart with mountains of green, not even Atlas
can hold the broken weight of a lilied moon
fire is not friendly, does not rekindle
when the breath
burns,
burns
in effigy and all the gods are dead and buried
ii.
let me weep then, let me weep for all
the born and unborn
let the pity of human embrace
bear my soul, lay me down and let me
take refuge in the eviscerating night,
let the banyan and the willow bind their flailing branches
yoke my roots and cut deep my image.
I wanted to face myself
in the mirror of my objection
my truncated reflection
blasphemous darkness
reverberating echoes of light
perchance
to dream with unbending curve,
deep-veined red
music revolves around the open window
and a house can not stay silent when
Montserrat erupts, splintering the
heart with mountains of green, not even Atlas
can hold the broken weight of a lilied moon
fire is not friendly, does not rekindle
when the breath
burns,
burns
in effigy and all the gods are dead and buried
ii.
let me weep then, let me weep for all
the born and unborn
let the pity of human embrace
bear my soul, lay me down and let me
take refuge in the eviscerating night,
let the banyan and the willow bind their flailing branches
yoke my roots and cut deep my image.
