Cleft
moist contact
these dewy flakes
drifting like slow
candle light
crystal fire turning
like darkness
in tall spire
I can reach out
and melt them
taste them
and they crawl
like tears
down your dark
brow
gather on the sadness
like slush cool
in the gutters
our city glows tallow
neath the clouds
the streets are polished
with the quiet dead
of evening
take our hands and
feel our hearts sadness
like love you notes
in summer sands
I could kiss away
the blues on your
beautiful pain
touch my winter
hands to your summer
haze
and your gaze
graces my
emptiness
like polite
melancholy notes
How I wait forever
on the bridge
while the water
sings its sorrow
and I listen for
your footsteps
