how do you say so long

how do you say
so long to someone
who has given you
so much joy and happiness
for sixteen years
who now lays near-lifeless
in your aching arms

i can not say goodbye, dear one
i will not say goodbye
no, not now or ever
just rest well, my sweet angel
and know you were my love
yes, you were my life

It's not easy...

I've often had to say goodbye to many of my pets that I loved dearly. Holding their sick frail old bodies in my arms and having to put them to sleep. It’s never easy to say goodbye to loved ones and it never gets any easier. A lovely sad write Faith. Xena Quote: Science is what you know; philosophy is what you don't know. - Bertrand Russell

I remember asking my mom

I remember asking my mom "how can I let you go", she said "you'll have to". We've all brothers and sisters in loss. Some ideas to give your poem *different* sound rather than what has been said before... I can't say goodbye not to the joy nor the sorrow, you so near Death, my arms already aching for the touch of you, all these years my beloved, no, I will not say goodbye my darling dear not now, nor then, my life, my love, rest well my sweet angel... Many hugs of love, ~Anna "There is a kind of mysticism to writing." ~ Irvine Welsh

This very tender and finely

This very tender and finely inked write is so poignant, Faithmairee! It tugged at my heartstrings so hard! So well expressed and filled with not just emotion but also devotion. It is never easy to say Goodbye when one's pen is dipped in tears and the last Goodbye's the hardest one of all to say! My thoughts and my prayers are with you at this sad moment and I pray for both comfort and consolation for you, dear friend in poetry. Blessings & Light........

so long

I was hoping for your sake this was not based on present circumstance. In the many losses in my life most goodbyes were nonverbal, but your work puts the feeling of despair in sharp focus.......scribbler
