Heart Attack

Fragile egg coddled, broken in wingback .
Ottoman matches slipper's silver suede.
Once rich, resplendent, now faded and frayed;
as with the memories he sadly lacks .
Grandfather's clock standing watch on the floor,
face ever forward, hands out precious time .
A constant reminder in every chime,
striking his senses alarming him more.
Life passed in layers, as dust on his shelf .
Window shifts sun on frail shoulders numbing.
Pane absorbs heat he shudders becoming,
merely a shadow of his former self.
Time marches forward forever on track,
look to a future that never looks back.

Does not matter,

what happened to juddyanne's posts, their spot on, great poem if a little sad. What really makes it is the clock and the dust, both indicate time. Great write. Regards Roscoe..

Ah, visiting God again.

I had a heart attack and died again. Damn, seems I'm making a (nasty)habbit of it . Oh well, "third time's a charm", so they say! lol By Jove !

Jove I appreciate that and I still have your poem you wrote for me about my father. He is still getting around but slower also like yourself. You take good care of you and I am so glad to see your face here again. You wrote any more childrens book. Take if lightheartedly for goodness sake and keep in touch, Missed you around here for sure and your poetry. Love at ya and best wishes for recovery Mona xoxo
