STRANGELAND

Went to the land of turned around
   I was so happy that I frowned
   to get there I first had to leave
   in telling truth had to deceive

The stars shine darkly at my feet
   folks say goodbye before they meet
   to save means spending even more
   and peaceful stands for all out war

Here Dolly Parton is flat chested
   only honest people get arrested
   receiver of the least votes wins
   character is defined as sins

To stay the same is cutting back
   black is white and white is black
   established truths are really lies
   love goes to those who we despise

Roofs are open to the rain
   take aspirin to bring on the pain
   red means go and green means stop
   beginners start out at the top

Leaders shake hands when they disagree
   and only blinded people see
   you ask "where is this place,old son?"
   So sad to say it's Washington

a bit of absurdity - back to frontness

Just totally hilarious!

Oh man! Two little things I'd change: 2nd stanza, "The stars shine", not "shined", for consistency, and typo on "aspirin" on the 5th stanza. Otherwise this is awesome, it could well be Ottawa or Quebec City, too! Antoine
