Any Place

Let's take a trip
just me and you,
take off without a plan.
One day here,
the next day gone,
trade the truck in for a van.

Take in the landscapes
far and wide,
witness nature at its best.
Run away with me,
you're all I need,
let's not worry about the rest.

We could camp in Colorodo Springs,
and then Niagara Falls.
We'll take pictures inside the Redwood Trees,
and make love beside them all.

Let's take a trip,
just me and you,
pack a suitcase up and go.
As long as you are here with me,
any place can be our home.

yes richard

security is in the heart the rhythm and every-now-and-then rhyme works well in evoking a wistfullness - i wonder how many of us ever take off and live the dream of just living for the day without the worry of finances and work oh for the days of the hunter gatherer.... but then = no tv, less scientific knowledge of the natural world, no books of poetry to read then again more connaissance and being in touch with nature and all there is ...... ...i waffle from your poem - your fault, provoking my thoughts lovely write love judy xxxx http://www.strategicpublishinggroup.com/title/TwentyMyPrettyPonies.html

I've been accused of much worse things than provoking thinking, it's a good day, thank you. Richard

Sweet write, if only we

Sweet write, if only we could be like snails with our homes on our backs, Richard, yes? How about picking up two passengers? He said he could live in his car, and just go from town to town, well, I could too if I didn't have to sit down to pee. lol. The whole modern world has divided itself into Conservatives and Progressives. The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of the Conservatives is to prevent the mistakes from being corrected. G.K. Chesteron

Hallmarky?????? I have to

Hallmarky?????? I have to laugh.. Indi says that about some of my poems. Guess that explains why I so enjoyed this piece you have written Richard. Haven't we all felt exactly as you have said here? Sounds like you already have hitch hikers!!! Here's one I wrote a few years back, after my Mom passed away and I felt the walls closing in...I actually left home, for parts unknown...me and my cat. Traveling So, I set out.. first thing this morning.. wasn't sure just where to head.. Knew my heart ..I'd carry with me.. anywhere..could be my bed.. Had a few bucks in my pocket.. in my wallet....credit cards Had my lap top..and my journals a few addresses, near..and far Had my music... yes ...my music.. couldn't venture forth without.. And my baby girl...the Coalbud, now my car , will be her house So, I packed up my belongings.. you know me, some jeans and tees Won't be needing any dresses.. going to....wherever I please So, I head out on the highway... where to head...north or south Can't go East for very long... if I go West....there's little doubt That my car would find the way there.. somehow tracking..sight unseen Cause I know as fate would have it you and me..as in my dreams So, I'm driving down 95.. keeping my thoughts of you at bay When in my head a voice appears.. as always,....with much to say "Susie....where you going... you know that's not your style You've never been a quitter.. and you've traveled many a mile You know my girl, I'm with you.. and that I'll always be Sue, I'm still your mother... nothing changes that , you'll see" So, I pulled off to the roadside.. and the cars were whizzing by.. As Coals eyes look upon me.. all at once...I start to cry.. She is right, as she is always.. running's never been my thing And she lives on here inside me.. no matter what the future brings So...I pull back on the highway.. heading back from where I came Only I will know how close I was.. to all the world...I'm still the same.

Stan...

thank you for the nom... this is one I've paid closer attention to syllable count and rhyme... I still think in rhyme so much of the time, but I don't usually like what I end up with... this one I did, and I think it is really the content that I liked too... thanks. Richard

Just cause i don't like the f word. I've always thought it would be fun just to go and see. Sigh, now i'm wistful. Great skills moonman! Always, Tonya
