oh, my soul

oh, my soul-
some say it is
an old one
others say it is
quite deep
but no one knows
my heart-felt joy
nor the tears
i sometimes weep

oh, my soul
has work to do
in its search
for beauty and truth
i see God in everyhing
as i have done
since i was
in my youth

oh, my soul
if i should pass
i'll know my
work here is done
but while i am
still on this earth
i'll speak my piece
out of a need
to be heard through
the written word

I find this piece to be very strong and effective. Most influential. I have one suggestion: Change the lower case i'll to I'll, as I is a proper noun. My favorite lines: oh, my soul if i should pass i’ll know my work here is done but while i am still on this earth i’ll speak my piece out of a need to be heard through the written word Always, Cat
