pale glow that warms the outline
a city crouched and waiting

there are the crows that herald
dawn
the mute and steady traffic flow

alive she wakes
busy in her steps
resting at her waters edge
this dreaming lake

The jewel moment
on which she turns
the wheel-spring heartbeat
singing
