SUMMERS MINT
Sun blazed rocks,
glints,
water, butterflies,
the breeze,
rustled trees,
hawks above leas,
summer's coined its mint,
how we love all these.
Raindrops dripping rhythms,
leaves,
cabbages and peas,
food for thought
while watching it,
succour for this earth.
Sudden thunder
Thor,
banging doors
electric arrows
charged,
strike down a tree,
burn
forests black.
Winds west, south,
east and north,
penetrating howls,
clatter tiles,
lift plastic rubbish
swirling flattened
squashed.
White as snow
virgin, bleak,
fly's and dances
oh so sweet
icy
cold as knives
winds tossed
all about.
Not frosty fingers
frozen,
glass designs,
surfaces glazed,
fish under
holes
crystals thin,
crisp.
Whispered
balmy gusts,
lusts languishing,
sandy hot beds,
potent smells,
warmed forever
memories,
summer's fires.
