grace
lovers need to express pain
like thin blue mother's milk
we must weep for our unborn children
in the whiteness of a morning glory,
opening
with pure grace,
shed prayers in our burning bed
with the flickering light of each pardon
before the sun sets and the heron returns
to the temple of his sky.
