Our Story Has a Life

Our story has a life,

I was not tethered but stalled,
stopped dead, free but enthralled.
What was it, this new feeling,
why was my mind reeling.
Am I not insane.

This then began,
our music, our song.
One dance, one glance,
we had met by chance.
What went before closed.

Two lovesick youths in flight,
phantom pains when apart.
Carefree life when together,
lost was the heart.
A passion injected state.

Drunk with love I fear,
staggering wantonly forward.
Always needing to be near,
like a play from N. Coward.
Was I the hero type.

This new life must be,
a story never ending.
You came to me,
I was then ripe,
for bending.
Forty is the year.

We have seen turmoil,
at times peaceful grace.
Our life is a whisper,
heated roar,
or embrace.
With you there is real.

Brilliant Roscoe

Such deep feelings mirrored in this write. I love it. The title, perfect. Reflects the meaning throughout. Xena Quote: Science is what you know; philosophy is what you don't know. - Bertrand Russell

great titlethis was really

great title this was really good to read the pace was uneven inplaces due to, i think, the shorter lines... but for me, it all worked i love the uneven pace it gives the read a sense of urgency, of passion...and that works well with the subject... young love IS urgent and passionate and a great last line! cheers p
