i'll still smell the roses

i'll still smell the roses
so precious and sweet
the scented pine needles
as they hang from the trees

i'll still hear the lonely hounds
at night as they bay
see the sky far above me
be it blue or at times gray

then someone someday
will mention your name
and i'll feel regret in my veins
for in my heart your love remains

Shucks Faith

I like this one Faith

Funny I should cross this one this evening as just today I went out to buy four rose bushes, we are going to make my rose garden again tomorrow. I got a white one, red one, pinkish red one and a peach one. My father wants to help with it. I have always loved to tend to my roses and then give them away as they smell so much better then the greenhouse ones. I will send you a picture once they get going. I love your poem it speaks from your heart where the roses still bloom. Have a Happy Fourth of July my friend Love and Peace Mona xoxox

You Are Sweet

Thank you so much, my friend. I used to have a rose bush with blue roses on it. It was so lovely. That was back in the day when I turned my whole yard into a garden. I used to grow eveything from lilies to camellias. It was so much fun making boquets and giving them to anyone who needed something to brighten their day. I had to quit planting things because there was no room left in my yard. LOL So glad you enjoyed my poem. Have a Happy Fourth of July!!! Dad got the four rose bushes in this weekend and I will send you a pic as soon as they go off I got the climber Joey bought me and then two chrsler imperials and one John F Kennedy white rose. The yard is coming along fine with all the rain too. Talk to you soon lady friend Love at ya Mona M

i liked the way you suddenly take a turn from nature to your beloved Love...i think you may have done this for two reasons... 1. because true Love is always in the sub conscious 2. to indicate how you would have loved to share the beauty of nature with him your write has a sweet fragrance of love to it.. warmly...raj (sublime_ocean)..
