Back to Life

He entreated with a small soft voice barely perceived in the quiet empty void

of mournful devastation.

Hovering, hidden he manipulated every disbelieving crack

to demonstrate tiny miracles

and whisper cryptic words of kaleidoscoped wisdom afire with

the pungent knowledge of continuation.

He walked with me through the relentless seeking of the malnourished

steering my footsteps

from high windy cliffs of weeping worlds and words of despair

to the sights and sense of manifest’s gifts

interlocking with evermore

in the eternal now which is all that there isn’t and is.

He stayed until he thought I’d stopped missing him, until it seemed I was ready

to not notice him leave.

But when I look back I remember a moment when

my heart felt a fluttering hiccup heave

of which I took such little regard

being busy smelling a rose at the time.

About This Poem

About the Author

Region, Country: Western Australia, AUS

Favorite Poets: Favourite poets? So many, so varied. I like particular songs, not necessarily the singer... and the same goes for poetry. I can honestly say though, that Alfred Noyes' The Highwayman was what inspired my love of poetry - my mother began reading it to me when I was still a baby, and it became my favourite bedtime story

Dear Judy

Very well written. My mind is elsewhere at the moment so I can't offer too much other than I enjoyed your write very much. Xena Quote: Science is what you know; philosophy is what you don't know. - Bertrand Russell

Not Sure

Runs as a Mother would run when finding a lost child or the feeling that sounds opposite of having lost someone dear can't quite figure which, but a deep piece that holds the emotion inside and there cries. Maybe you will let me know as with this feeling being expressed on paper it was great, Yours Ian.T

Dearest Judd

I'm always been moved by the poems you write ... but this one for me holds an emotion even though there is the sense of loss and the heart hiccups and there is that knowing there is a peace in this write ... beautifully moving I had tears by the fourth lines and then it felt like I walked through the steps with you ... we have both trodden those steps an they are the most painful steps any mother can take beautiful poetry I bow love and big hugs JayCee oi oi oi nominated (Quote~~"It is by universal misunderstanding that all agree. For if, by ill luck, people understood each other, they would never agree. "--Charles Baudelaire)
