EARTH BOUND
EARTH BOUND Before the first day, it is said,There was a misty firmamentMan enwrapped, not in time,But in the spheres of endless beginningDarkness, everywhere for the eyes that saw This beginning, though not of beingWhen man was buried in the abyssDeep down, not in a hollow, pit or tombBut in the ocean waters of the wombHe bade the earth, a peaceful parting Then light came, not from darknessBidding farewell to the nightWith light of knowledge and of the sunHe awoke to a glorious dawnEnjoyed the earth and lived therein His eyes grew dull and could hardly seeThe beauty of the world, but a shadow nowBones became cranky and dry, they saunteredThe soul took a bow from the spirit bodyMother earth swallowed him with ease
