S o r r y S t a t i o n s
jacket crumples like a sigh
leather whisper
hard chrome buckles
you lean out of your shoes
one turned on its side
and the dirty worry of the floor
smiles with tobacoo breadth
these island hearts we salvaged
the hot light weeping through
the storm salvation
lashing us in bitter rains
with knuckle hold on brackish
iron signature
stand in the double light
not turned not facing
I remember the lace
that shoulder length
supine sway your
laughter met
the chandelier delighted
your cupped wishs
tickling the stern admonishment
this room needs painting
exhausted with weary
fret
here is where our fingerprints met
that snowstorm havoc
the Doppler girls plan
we doubled under our ballast
like diving dreamers
excursions in dark deep love
stretch in that perfect light
the doorframe arch
your calves splendid
all the pretty notions
stifled like stippled
emotions
swirling in that tenderest
heartache and leaping
eager like lions
in the minute glances
of touch
