Its Not the End of the World

A young boy listened with bemusement
staring with his ears
to mellifluous chatter, melodious patter
'twas a glorious thing to hear

He did not know the meaning in
these beguiling splotches of sound
but, in time, he'd grow to know
he would learn by leaps and bounds!

He'd join this verbal orchestra
and banter without rest
in happy days and words of play
 "a chanter!" (and the best!)

But all to soon, things would change
( disappointment, quite severe)
all this clatter, he now understood,
was nothing but fluff, puff, and veneer

astute observation imho

easy to read with good rhyme and rhythm but - '?starring? with his ears' ?? maybe you meant 'staring', which i can accept as seeing sound... lol enjoyed love judy xxx http://www.strategicpublishinggroup.com/title/TwentyMyPrettyPonies.html

hello Judy

Even spell check can't help me when I misspell a word into the correctness of another word! Thank you for commenting, and taking the time to do so. Glad you enjoyed it... ...and happy to meet you, Neopoet style! Sincerely, AL
