Its Not the End of the World
A young boy listened with bemusement
staring with his ears
to mellifluous chatter, melodious patter
'twas a glorious thing to hear
He did not know the meaning in
these beguiling splotches of sound
but, in time, he'd grow to know
he would learn by leaps and bounds!
He'd join this verbal orchestra
and banter without rest
in happy days and words of play
"a chanter!" (and the best!)
But all to soon, things would change
( disappointment, quite severe)
all this clatter, he now understood,
was nothing but fluff, puff, and veneer
staring with his ears
to mellifluous chatter, melodious patter
'twas a glorious thing to hear
He did not know the meaning in
these beguiling splotches of sound
but, in time, he'd grow to know
he would learn by leaps and bounds!
He'd join this verbal orchestra
and banter without rest
in happy days and words of play
"a chanter!" (and the best!)
But all to soon, things would change
( disappointment, quite severe)
all this clatter, he now understood,
was nothing but fluff, puff, and veneer
