FLOWERS OF WISDOM
Flowers of wisdom spring up unawares,
when the mind is still and contemplates the whole,
all life its myriad facets giving joys and sorrows,
many,
like the glinting ripples on a lake or sea,
in nature's ever changing harmony of sounds and sights,
feelings slight, or deep disturb the flow,
but still we have to ride the ripples tolerate the blows,
as this life we live,
accept the downs as well as ups,
and make the best of this.
There's no one can escape these wiles,
these many, many stiles along the way,
their steps and strides to counteract the gait,
on the way they gather flowers of love,
and flowers of hate,
we weigh them up on scales so individual.
Some enlarged relate to things obscene,
exaggerate a scene, create a dream,
a nightmare for the mind,
they're not content with simple lovely things,
all must be made more of,
which in the process becomes less,
less quality, less blessings, less all,
more stress and woe it follows this.
So grasp the branch and swing,
fly up, fly on your way,
enjoy the sense of day and night,
and on your flight you may,
become sheer ecstasy, delight.
With your fantasy create a world so free,
so happy, so wonderful
that to die with this installed,
there is no pain in it at all,
for you have touched,
the essence of the dream of life,
its all,
absorbed the good and bad,
become the you you are,
not mad or overdone,
just simple, sound like some.
