Icy Chrysalis

Ice water runs through my veins
spidering out to each nerve ending
I’m frozen, I’m rigid

I’m frigid air, preserved in perfect despair

I’m in stasis, unable to move forward or back
I long to feel the warm summer breeze
the comfort of your love once more

Crack the icy chrysalis I wear
save me from the chill that you created
melt me drop, by drop

I’m frigid air, preserved in perfect despair
