Always There

I may not have style,
And I may not have class,
I may not have money,
I hope with time that will pass,

I tell you this so you will know,
Just what you're getting into,
I am naught but a man,
And anything is what I'll do for you,

Now I can't promise you a life of priveledge,
Nor one devoid of pain,
Our lives will be filled with hardship and toil,
And an ungodly amount of strain,

But your pain will not be caused by me,
This I do solemnly swear,
Because throughout the toil and the strain,
I will always be there,

There for the good times,
And also for the bad,
You'll alwys have me to turn to,
So please do not be sad,

Because the hardships and the pain will be fleating,
Compared to our joy and love,
The good times will out number the bad,
And we will rise above,

Above all of the pain and suffering,
That this world will cast our way,
All we'll need is each other,
From now till our dying day.

Simply beautiful

What a heart-warming poem, it has so much honesty in it, promising not the fairytale but the true self that there is. I love it...particularly the first stanza.

Beautiful, beautiful

A very real and well written poem - your logic is so consistent which makes it even more beautiful. Your constant focus on the theme produced a flawless flow. I love this poem. Regards, Moloko
