August heat
mid June
in New England
one never knows
This night
twilight time
through the trees
a ball of red can
be seen
setting-over the river
sprinklers on..
I love that sound
like knowing my
children have been fed..
plants happy
as their feet rest
from the summers heat
in the cool, moist earth.
